Datadog for 10 Hosts: Per-Host Price and the Monthly Bill

Datadog per-host infrastructure prices as of 2026-10-25, the annual versus on-demand gap, and the real bill for ten hosts with and without APM.

Verified answer checked

Datadog Infrastructure Pro is $15 per host per month billed annually, or $18 on-demand, so ten hosts cost $150 per month or $1,800 per year on annual billing, and $180 per month or $2,160 per year on on-demand pricing. Infrastructure Enterprise is $23 per host on annual billing and $27 on-demand, which puts ten hosts at $2,760 a year or $3,240.

  • Datadog Infrastructure Pro is $15 per host per month billed annually, or $18 per host on on-demand billing (checked 2026-10-25).
  • Ten hosts on Infrastructure Pro cost $150 per month, or $1,800 per year, on annual billing (calculated 2026-10-25).
  • The same ten hosts cost $180 per month, or $2,160 per year, on on-demand billing (calculated 2026-10-25).
  • Infrastructure Enterprise is $23 per host per month annually and $27 on-demand, so ten hosts cost $2,760 or $3,240 a year (checked 2026-10-25).
  • The free plan covers up to 5 hosts and is a separate plan, so ten hosts means ten paid host units rather than five free ones (checked 2026-10-25).
  • Adding APM at $31 per host per month raises the ten-host bill to $460 per month, or $5,520 per year (calculated 2026-10-25).

Datadog's infrastructure pricing is one number per host, and the whole question is which of two numbers you get. Infrastructure Pro is $15 per host per month billed annually, or $18 per host on on-demand billing. Ten hosts therefore cost $150 per month and $1,800 per year on annual billing, or $180 per month and $2,160 per year on on-demand. Enterprise moves to $23 per host annually and $27 on-demand, which is $2,760 or $3,240 a year for the same ten hosts. The free plan does not discount the first five: it stops at five hosts entirely.

Per-host infrastructure prices

PlanAnnual billing, per host/monthOn-demand, per host/monthTen hosts, annual billing
Infrastructure Pro$15$18$150 per month, $1,800 per year
Infrastructure Enterprise$23$27$230 per month, $2,760 per year

What ten hosts bill as you add products

Product mix, ten hostsAnnual rate per host/monthMonthly billAnnual bill
Infrastructure Pro only$15$150$1,800
Pro plus APM$46 ($15 + $31)$460$5,520
Pro plus APM plus network monitoring$51$510$6,120

Add-on rates are the published annual per-host prices for APM at $31 and network monitoring at $5 (calculated 2026-10-25).

What the numbers actually mean

The base infrastructure bill is the smallest part of a Datadog invoice once instrumentation spreads. At $15 per host, ten hosts cost $1,800 a year, but the same ten hosts with APM attached cost $5,520, and adding network monitoring takes it to $6,120 (calculated 2026-10-25). APM alone is twice the price of infrastructure monitoring, which is why host counts quoted in isolation mislead: a ten-host estate with three products on it is a $6,000-a-year account, not an $1,800 one.

Annual billing is worth 16.7% on Pro and 14.8% on Enterprise (calculated 2026-10-25). On ten Pro hosts that is $360 a year, and the trade is a twelve-month commitment against a set of hosts that may not exist in twelve months. For a stable fleet the discount is free money; for an autoscaling group that swings between eight and fifteen hosts, the commitment can cost more than it saves.

Five hosts is a hard cliff rather than a ramp. Datadog's free plan covers up to 5 hosts with 1-day metric retention, and there is no published partial-credit structure that makes hosts six through ten cheaper. A ten-host account pays ten times the per-host rate, full stop, so consolidating workloads onto fewer, larger hosts is a real cost lever rather than a rounding exercise.

The on-demand rate exists for a reason. At $18 per host there is no annual commitment and no discount, which is the correct choice for a short-lived environment: ten on-demand hosts run for eight weeks cost about $360, against $1,800 committed for a full year (calculated 2026-10-25).

How we measured it

Prices come from the Datadog pricing page and price list fetched on 2026-10-25, where the per-host figures appear as starting-at rates with the billed-annually or on-demand qualifier, and the same numbers are carried in the embedded price data that drives the page's billing toggle. No agents were installed, no hosts were onboarded and no invoice was produced. Ten-host totals, add-on sums and percentages are arithmetic on those published rates and are marked calculated.

What changes in practice

Price the products, not the hosts. Infrastructure is $15 per host; APM is $31. A budget built on host count will be wrong by a factor of two or three once tracing and network monitoring are enabled, and the published per-host add-on rates are the only way to see that before the invoice.

Count hosts deliberately. Because ten hosts cost exactly ten units with no volume break at this size, merging small instances or dropping idle staging hosts is the cheapest optimization available, worth $15 per host per month on Pro.

Choose the billing term against fleet stability. Annual billing saves $360 a year on ten Pro hosts, but only if all ten run for twelve months; a fleet that shrinks by three hosts three months in gives most of that back.

Bottom line

Ten hosts on Datadog Infrastructure Pro is $150 per month on annual billing, $1,800 a year, or $180 per month on-demand at $2,160 a year (calculated 2026-10-25). Budget at least $460 a month if APM is part of the plan, because at $31 per host the tracing line is the one that changes the size of the bill.

Frequently asked questions

Do the first five hosts come free on a paid plan?

No. Up to 5 hosts is the ceiling of Datadog's free plan, which is a separate tier with 1-day metric retention. A ten-host account pays for ten host units on whichever paid plan it uses.

How much does annual billing save on ten hosts?

$3 per host per month on Pro and $4 per host per month on Enterprise, which is $360 and $480 a year at ten hosts (calculated 2026-10-25). On Pro that is 16.7% off the on-demand rate.

Is $15 the whole Datadog bill?

No. Infrastructure pricing covers host monitoring only. APM is $31 per host per month on annual billing, network monitoring is $5, and log ingestion and indexing are billed separately on a per-GB and per-million-event basis.

What is included on Infrastructure Pro?

The pricing page describes Pro as centralizing monitoring of systems, services and serverless functions. Enterprise, at $23 per host annually, adds advanced features and administrative controls.
