Backblaze B2 at $6.95 per TB against Bunny Storage at $0.01 per GB-month, including the egress rules that decide the real bill, captured 2026-10-25.

Verified answer checked

1 TB stored for a month costs $6.95 on Backblaze B2 and $10.24 on Bunny Storage in a single standard region. B2 also includes free egress equal to three times stored data; Bunny charges nothing to move data out of storage, but its CDN bills $0.01 per GB to deliver it.

  • Backblaze B2 charges $6.95 per TB per month with the first 10 GB always free, so 1 TB stored costs $6.95 (checked 2026-10-25).
  • Bunny Storage charges $0.01 per GB-month in a single standard region, so 1 TB stored costs $10.24 — about 32% more than B2 (calculated 2026-10-25).
  • B2 includes free egress equal to three times average monthly stored data, so 1 TB stored permits 3 TB of downloads at no charge (checked 2026-10-25).
  • Egress beyond three times storage costs $0.01 per GB on B2, so 1 TB stored plus 4 TB of downloads bills $17.19 (calculated 2026-10-25).
  • Bunny Storage has no egress charge of its own, but delivery through Bunny's CDN bills $0.01 per GB in Europe and North America (checked 2026-10-25).
  • B2 offers unlimited free egress to partner CDNs including Cloudflare, Fastly and bunny.net, and B2 Overdrive at $15 per TB-month removes the egress cap entirely (checked 2026-10-25).

Backblaze B2 and Bunny Storage both sell object storage by the month, and they disagree about almost everything else. One terabyte held for a month costs $6.95 on B2 and $10.24 on Bunny in a single standard region (calculated 2026-10-25). The gap is 32% on storage alone, and it flips depending on how much you download, because B2 bundles free egress at three times your stored volume while Bunny bundles none of the delivery. This page prices both under the same three scenarios so the storage rate stops being the whole story.

What the egress rules actually mean

Storage rates are the easy half. The bill is decided by how many times each stored byte leaves, and the two vendors answer that question differently.

Monthly scenarioBackblaze B2Bunny Storage + CDN
1 TB stored, no downloads$6.95$10.24
1 TB stored, 1 TB downloaded$6.95$20.48
1 TB stored, 4 TB downloaded$17.19$51.20

B2 gives you egress equal to three times your average monthly stored data, so 1 TB stored permits 3 TB of downloads at no charge and the first scenario costs the same as the second (calculated 2026-10-25). Past that the rate is $0.01 per GB: the fourth terabyte adds $10.24, which makes the 4 TB month $17.19.

Bunny's model is the mirror image. Nothing is charged to move data from storage to the CDN, and there are no API fees, but the CDN that receives it bills $0.01 per GB in Europe and North America. Every delivered terabyte therefore costs $10.24 on top of storage, and the 4 TB month reaches $51.20 — three times B2's bill for the same workload (calculated 2026-10-25).

How we measured it

We loaded Backblaze's cloud storage pricing page and both Bunny pricing pages on 2026-10-25 and used only the published rates: $6.95 per TB, the three-times egress rule and $0.01 per GB beyond it on one side; $0.01 per GB-month, the $1 minimum and the $0.01 per GB CDN rate on the other. The terabyte is read as 1,024 GB throughout. No bucket was created, nothing was uploaded and no transfer was measured.

What changes in practice

Multi-region storage breaks the comparison in Bunny's favour at the low end and against it at the high end. One region is $0.01 per GB, two is $0.02 and three is $0.025, so spreading 1 TB across three regions costs $25.60 a month against B2's flat $6.95 — nearly four times as much for a feature B2 prices into a single rate.

The opposite trade appears if your CDN is already one of B2's partners. Backblaze lists Cloudflare, Fastly, bunny.net, CacheFly, CoreWeave, Equinix Metal, Vultr and phoenixNAP as destinations where egress is unlimited and free, which means a B2 bucket fronted by Bunny's CDN can pay $6.95 for storage and Bunny's $0.01 per GB for delivery, with no B2 egress bill at all. The 4 TB scenario becomes $6.95 plus $40.96, and the storage side of the bill stays at B2's rate.

Operational calls are the third line item. B2 makes Class A, B and C transactions free on pay-as-you-go and charges $0.004 per 10,000 Class D calls with the first 2,500 a day free; Bunny bundles API calls into the storage price. For a bucket serving millions of small objects, the two models diverge in ways a per-TB comparison hides.

Bottom line

1 TB stored for a month costs $6.95 on B2 and $10.24 on Bunny, and the gap widens as downloads grow: $17.19 against $51.20 at 4 TB of egress. Store on B2 unless you need multi-region replication, and if you front it with a partner CDN, B2's egress cap stops mattering altogether.

Frequently asked questions

Which is cheaper for 1 TB stored for one month?

Backblaze B2 at $6.95 against $10.24 for Bunny Storage in one standard region. B2's $6.95 per TB rate is roughly 32% below Bunny's $0.01 per GB-month.

What are Backblaze B2's egress rules?

Free up to three times your average monthly stored data, then $0.01 per GB. At 1 TB stored that is 3 TB free per month; a 4 TB download month costs $10.24 in egress.

Does Bunny Storage charge for egress?

No, traffic from Bunny Storage to Bunny's CDN is free with no API fees. But CDN delivery itself is billed at $0.01 per GB in Europe and North America, so 1 TB delivered adds $10.24.

How do the two bills compare at 4 TB of downloads?

$17.19 on B2 against $51.20 on Bunny, because B2's first 3 TB of egress is included while Bunny bills every delivered GB. B2 only starts charging for egress past 3 TB per TB stored.
